This rarely happens. On Thursday, the common men were pleasantly surprised when they noticed their Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar sipping tea with them along a road-side stall in her home state in Bihar.

The Lok Sabha Speaker was on way to her town in Sasaram in Bihar when she suddenly jumped out of the car near Mohania town in Kaimur district.

“Ka ho hamaro ke chai deba (Hello, will you serve me a cup of tea)?” she asked a road-side tea vendor Rajendra Prasad in a chaste Magahi, leaving him hugely surprised.

Offering a polite ‘namaste’, the vendor immediately brought a broken chair and prepared special tea for her and other persons accompanying her in the cavalcade.

The incident caused traffic jam near the tea stalls as many people gathered there to watch Speaker from a close.

She left the place only after sipping a cup of tea, thanking the vendor hugely in return.
