UAE to be vice-chair of UN aviation body’s transport committee

DUBAI - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) representative has been unanimously elected as vice-chairperson of the Air Transport Committee of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Captain Aysha Al Hamili was unanimously chosen for the post Jan 13, WAM news agency reported Wednesday.

The committee, which is one of the Council’s advisory bodies established by the 1944 Chicago Convention, aids in development of standards and recommended practices related to air transport and presents studies and recommendations on air transport matters.
