Sheikh Hasina offers prayer at a Sufi shrine in Jaipur

JAIPUR - Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered prayers at the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer on Wednesday.

The Bangladesh premier had arrived in Ajmer, about 135 kilometres away from the pink city Jaipur along with her delegation and was given a warm welcome by the officials who take care of the shrine.

Hasina was offered a biography of Sufi saint Chisti and a sword.

Unprecedented security arrangements were made for Hasina’s visit to the shrine, while commandoes deployed on rooftops, the nearby markets were closed.

Hasina, 62, who is on her maiden visit to India after assuming power last year will return to home on Wednesday. (ANI)
