LONDON - Prosecutors in Milan, who accuse Silvio Berlusconi of abuse of office and sleeping with an under-age prostitute, believe that the prime minister paid for cosmetic surgeries of young women who attended his infamous ‘bunga bunga’ parties.

Italian prosecutors think that at least seven women in his inner circle were given money for operations to enlarge their breasts, shape their buttocks and plump up their lips with collagen implants, reports the Telegraph.

The latest revelations come after it emerged that Berlusconi, Italy’s third richest man, gave jewellery, cars, and bundles of cash worth hundreds of thousands of pounds to showgirls and aspiring actresses who ‘prostituted themselves’ at so-called ‘bunga bunga’ parties at his mansion near Milan.

According to investigators, the operations were conducted by Giacomo Urtis, a cosmetic surgeon based in Sardinia.

Venezuelan born Dr Urtis, 34, has been quizzed by Ilda Boccassini, one of the magistrates pursuing the case against the prime minister, but is not accused of any wrongdoing.

In the course of their investigation prosecutors recorded hundreds of telephone conversations, in which some of the women caught up in the scandal discussed having work done to their breasts and bottoms.

Dr Urtis told Corriere della Sera that prosecutors were particularly interested in whether he had performed work on Karima El Mahroug, the teenage belly dancer who the prime minister is accused of paying for sex when she was 17. The surgeon insisted that he had never met her. (ANI)
