NEW DELHI - Acting on the Shunglu Commission report, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday ordered to revert Doordarshan Director General Aruna Sharma to her parent cadre and to refer the commission report - which indicted Sharma and suspended Prasar Bharati chief executive officer B.S. Lalli - to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The prime minister also ordered the information and broadcasting ministry to recommend disciplinary action against the two senior bureaucrats within two weeks, an official release said.

The two-member Shunglu Commission, appointed to probe corruption in the Commonwealth Games held in October last year, had submitted its first stand alone report on the broadcasting rights last month.

The report had indicted the two officials - Sharma and Lalli - for causing a loss of Rs.135 crore to the exchequer. Lalli is already under suspension.
