President, vice president greet nation on Milad-Un-Nabi

NEW DELHI - President Pratibha Patil and Vice President Hamid Ansari Tuesday greeted the nation on the eve of Milad-Un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, saying his teachings continue to be a source of spiritual strength for humanity.

“On the auspicious occasion of Milad-Un-Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed, I convey my greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens,” said Patil.

“May the message of universal brotherhood, compassion, tolerance and service to humanity preached by the Prophet guide and inspire us to follow the path of harmony and work for the welfare of all,” Patil added.

In his message, Ansari said: “Milad-Un-Nabi reminds us of the life and spiritual teachings of Prophet Mohammad. Through the message of love, humanism, righteousness and tolerance, the teachings of the Prophet continue to be a source of spiritual strength for all humanity.”

“May the enlightened message of the Prophet unite us all and guide us on the path of peace and harmony,” Ansari added.
