KOLKATA - Alleging that West Bengal’s Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M)-led Left Front government was resorting to violence to contain the “winds of political change”, yoga guru Baba Ramdev Sunday said the centre should intervene to stop the bloodshed.

“Winds of political change are sweeping the state. To prevent that some evil forces are resorting to violence. The soil of Bengal is now splattered with blood,” Ramdev told mediapersons.

He called for steps to stop the violence so that “the blood of innocent people is not spilled, women are not widowed, children are not orphaned”.

The yoga guru said if the state government failed to carry out its duties, the central government “should intervene”.

Baba Ramdev said he supported state’s principal opposition leader and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee for her struggle against the Left Front government.
