PM, Sonia to pay homage to Karunakaran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will arrive in Kerala to pay their last respects to former Congress chief minister K. Karunakaran, a party source said Thursday.

The source told IANS that Gandhi was expected at the party headquarters in the capital around noon Friday while Manmohan Singh was expected to arrive in Thrissur Saturday where the veteran leader is to be cremated.

Karunakaran, 92, died Thursday in a hospital where he was admitted Dec 10.
