Sarkozy-Manmohan begin talks, agreements to be signed

NEW DELHI - Discussions between visiting French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh began Monday morning and are expected to be followed by the signing of agreements.

Sarkozy, who arrived Dec 4 in Bangalore for a four-day India visit, held delegation level talks with Singh at Hyderabad House, after which they will address a joint press conference.

Officials said India and France are set to sign agreements in areas of cooperation in civil nuclear energy and space.
