Manmohan Singh meets President Patil

NEW DELHI - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Saturday called on President Pratibha Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Saturday night and discussed various issues including the disruptions in the ongoing session of parliament and the two leaders’ foreign visits.

The meeting lasted 45 minutes.

“The two leaders discussed about the ongoing Session of Parliament, the visit of the French President (Nicolas Sarkozy), the president’s just concluded state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Syria and the prime minister’s forthcoming visit to Brussels for attending the EU Summit,” said a Rashtrapati Bhawan press release.

The two also discussed about the current rate of economic growth in the country and various other issues of national and international importance, it added.
