Congress congratulates Nitish Kumar

NEW DELHI - A dejected Congress party Wednesday congratulated Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for leading his alliance to victory in assembly elections.

“We would like to congratulate Nitish Kumar,” Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan said here. The Congress party had nine members in the outgoing assembly. Its strength is expected to fall to around five.

Natarajan said the Congress will analyse what went wrong with its election strategy in Bihar, where the party has steadily lost influence in recent decades mostly to regional players.
