Ajit Pawar Elected Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — NCP leader Ajit Pawar was chosen the next deputy chief minister of Maharashtra after Chhagan Bhujbal. He is the nephew of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and a state minister.

Pawar has been elected as deputy to Prithviraj Chavan. Earlier today Mr. Chavan was selected the Congress replacing Ashok Chavan as chief minister, by NCP legislators.

Maharashtra is ruled by a Congress-NCP coalition.
