Student wings of Trinamool Congress, CPI (M) clash in West Bengal

BARDHAMAN - Student activists of the Trinamool Congress on Wednesday got engaged into a clash with the students union of the ruling Communist Party of India(Marxist) in Bardhaman district of West Bengal.

It all started on Tuesday when members of the TMC students union staged a demonstration against the recruitment of employees at the Bardhaman University, which they alleged was illegal. But the clash further resumed on Wednesday.

Police along with personnel of the paramilitary Rapid Action Force had to be called in to control the situation at the university.

On Wednesday, three students were arrested in adding to the ten persons arrested on the previous day.

The TMC activists also alleged that the CPI (M) activists set their party office on fire.(ANI)
