Obama spokesman says Dems will keep House in fall
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s press secretary says he thinks the Democrats will keep control of the House after the fall elections.
Spokesman Robert Gibbs tells ABC’s “Good Morning America” that Democrats are running better campaigns than Republicans and he thinks his party will be successful when voters make their choices in November.
Gibbs says Democrats want to make progress on big issues and help move the country ahead. He says putting the GOP back in power would mean a return to economic policies that “got us into this mess.”
Gibbs’ confidence about Democratic prospects follows the recent firestorm he created when he said that there were enough House seats in play to jeopardize the Democrats’ majority.
