SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The California election results were declared on Tuesday, June 9, 2010. The elections had been the primary elections, for the tickets to the Senate seat and the post of the Governor. This time, the results were very much predictable, just as it was being expected. The Democrats suffered a major loss, as usual, repeating a trend that has been noticed in almost every other election in the country for quite some time now. However, some of the aspects in the elections were different; for the first time, the Republicans sent up two women for the Senatorial race and the race for the post of the Governor.

The Democrats gave the tickets for the Senate and the post of the Governor to incumbent Governor Jerry Brown, who has been serving in the post for the last two terms, and incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer respectively. Both Senator Barbara Boxer and Governor Jerry Brown will be facing off Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina in the elections that are going to be held in the coming fall, in November. The win in this California election, needless to say, came with a major significance for Meg Whitman, for whom, this is the first time that she has run for a political official position. Carly Fiorina was formerly the chairman of the Hewlett-Packard Company.

It is being expected by the observers and the political analysts that the results of the next level of the elections that are going to be held in November this year, are not going to be as straightforward or as predictable as the primary level of the California elections. It can be very much understood that the Democrats are going to fight tooth and nail to turn around in the November elections in order to regain the position they have been steadily losing.
