MANILA, PHILIPPINES (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems like even the Anti tobacco day cant keep “Noynoy” Cojuangco Aquino III away from smoking. That is exactly what the Senator told the media as he declared that he is going to smoke his regular quota of cigarettes on Anti Tobacco Day.

May 31 which marks the Anti Tobacco Day happens to be an initiative started by WHO (World Health Organization) for the current year 2010 which aims to curb the buying and selling of Tobacco. Some nations have also declared that all shops shall refrain from selling tobacco on Anti Tobacco Day.

The official report of WHO depicted that here has been a sudden increase in the number of smokers with major number of children and women falling under the group. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in his official statement that all major nations and their governments should come up to make the Anti Tobacco Day a successful one. Considering all that, Senator “Noynoy” Aquino’s decision to carry on his regular habit seems a little odd at the Anti Tobacco Day. However the Senator made it clear in front of the media that he has always refrained from being a poster child to all health campaigns. He said that everybody in the senate was well aware of his smoking habits before he stepped inside. The Senator says that his smoking has never caused any problem to anyone and he made it sure that his habit shouldn’t be any kind of hassle or hindrance in his personal or professional life. He supports all ideas and also said that the Anti Tobacco Day campaign might help him to alter his decisions of continuing smoking in the near future.
