ANTANANARIVO, MADAGASCAR (GaeaTimes.com)- Marc Ravalomanana, the ex-President of Madagascar who is now living in exile in South Africa, issued a statement on Saturday saying that he was not responsible for the mutiny which had taken place in the country back in the year 2009. On the other hand Andry Rajoelina, formerly a disc jockey of India, who has now become the Mayor of the city, feels that he is losing out on not only the military’s support but also the support of international leaders. Andry Rajoelina had earlier taken the help of the army in Madagascar when he and his followers had organized a strikeforce to oust Marc Ravalomanana from the country.

In the year 2009, it had been alleged by the former disc jockey of India that the President was trying to sow seeds of discontent between the country’s military and the government. However in the most recent statement made by the spokesman of the ex-President, it is being said that the country had misunderstood the true intentions of the President a year back. While it was earlier said that the mutiny which had occurred in the country on that fateful day had been organized by the President, it is now being said that Marc Ravalomanana did not have any hand in the affair.

The 2009 mutiny in the capital city of Madagascar had claimed the lives of two men in the gunfight which had ensued between forces supporting the former Indian disc jockey and the ex-President. What followed was the election of Andry Rajoelina as the Mayor of Antananarivo and the President being ousted. With the recent statement being made, it is being felt that the disc jockey may well lose out on further support from world leaders.
