ISLAMABAD - Former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif believes that the United States can use its influence in facilitating result-oriented talks between Pakistan and India.

According to The News, he expressed these views during a meeting with President Barack Obama’s Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke at Punjab House on Thursday.

Sharif stressed that the composite dialogue process stalled after 26/11 Mumbai attacks between two countries should be back on track instead of just one meeting.

According to a statement issued from Punjab House, Sharif said that peace could not be established in the region without solution of the Kashmir dispute in line with the UN plebiscite and according to aspirations of Kashmiri people.

About the water dispute, he said that India should refrain from triggering yet another crisis between the two countries. (ANI)
